Palamon is a Theban knight that was captured by Theseus. While being in prison he gets a look at Emilie and instantly falls in love. Arcite also seeing her tries to declare her for himself. Palamon is released early and due to a friend of Theseus, a prince, giving good word. After being released Arcite and Palamon duel. Arcite wins the fight but is later mortally wounded, so Arcite tells Emilie to be with Palamon.
