Salamanders are carnivores. They mostly eat worms, snails, and slugs. Larger salamanders have been know to eat fish and small crustacean. Some salamanders even display cannibalism. They use their tongue to catch food. They eat 2-3 times a WEEK! Night is when they enjoy eating, because their prey is resting. They eat worms because they are low to the ground and easy to grab.
