Clavijero attacked the duality of the Enlightenment thinkers, pointing out the people who had preached that people are equal, and how they had not included Americanos in it. One specific person like so is John Locke, who argued that people were all equal, with natural rights, but dismissed Americanos as slaves, property, and thus not human.

Attack 2 : Social Hierarchy
Clavijero aimed to reconstruct the social hierarchy and to give Americanos equal rights. Saying that the Americanos are "capable of all the sciences" that white men can, he argued for a more equal society.
