Comments : Jacques Cartier In 1533 the french wanted to know what was in north america so in 1534 the french sent people to explore north america which was led by Jacques Cartier when they got to NA they came around St. lawrence river. Then they got off their bout and came across some aboriginal they were welcoming them to their village named canada but the explorer thought they were being welcomed to their country that’s how canada got its name.
